Evolving critters

There is a danger lurking in nature of barely visible ticks, which wait in forests, bushes and grasses for blood donors and can transmit diseases through their bites and stings, such as Lyme disease, which damages the skin, nerves, joints and heart, or meningoencephalitis, which affects the brain and spine. While there is a vaccination against meningoencephalitis, there is no prevention against Lyme disease, which can be fatal if not recognised early and treated with antibiotics.
